The basics
These are a fun and safe introduction to throwing and are proving to be very popular. I do a number of throwing days each month – usually Fridays and Saturdays – which can book up quickly. These sessions are perfect for individuals or small groups/ families each taking turns at throwing. My prices are per session, rather than per person, as I teach 1 person at a time. Glazing typically takes about 6 weeks as it requires drying, bisque & glaze firing. All creations are dishwasher safe.
The taster sessions are held at my studio in central St Albans : I’ll do a demo, then be close on hand with tips and help. Make as many pots as you like during that time, and I'll fire your best pieces.

Firing
The number of pots for glazing & firing depends on the workshop length:

1 hr session - choose 2 pots for firing

90 mins - choose 3 pots for firing

2 hr session - choose 4 pots for firing

Additional firing possible - £6 per pot (up to 500g)

Parking is in Walton street. We are at the end of Walton street (corner with Sandpit Lane) AL1 4DQ Note: no permits required on a Saturday, nor Friday 11:30 - 1:30 nor after 2:30pm

Follow up throwing sessions
I also offer follow up throwing sessions – for anyone who fancies a more intense session with more clay and less tuition. The only way to get better is practice practice practice!!
